The Seminole Nation of Oklahoma successfully reopens its gaming facilities after nine month of negotiations with the National Indian Gaming Commission

The National Indian Gaming Commission lifted the 2003 permanent closure order issued against the Tribe, and the Seminole Nation reopened its Mystic Winds Casino located in Seminole, Oklahoma. This reopening makes the end of several appeals, lengthy litigation and negotiations with the NIGC, an agency of the Department of Interior. The Seminole are happy to announce that its previously unemployed citizens are going back to work, and the proceeds from its gaming industry are being reinvested in social services for the benefit of the Tribe and the Seminole community.
