Education:
Mr. Rockett received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1964. He received a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1967.
Experience:
Mr. Rockett joined the Firm in 1969 and practices in the Firm’s corporate and securities department. His practice includes general corporate planning and counseling, corporate governance, corporate finance, private placements, venture capital, public securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, limited liability companies and partnerships.
During 1984 and 1985, Mr. Rockett served as an advisor on federal and state securities law to the Oil Investment Institute, a national trade association.
Mr. Rockett was Chairman of the Business Associations Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association in 1985.
He has served on the Oklahoma Securities Department Administrator’s Select Committee, an advisory committee on securities legislation and regulation and as a member of the Committee of Business Associations Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association on Revised Uniform Partnership Act.
Among the seminar topics he has presented are: Due Diligence Under Federal Securities Laws to the 1988 Analyst Education Seminar of the North American Securities Administrators Association; Duties and Liabilities of Directors of Non-Profit Corporations presented at the 1995 Annual Non Profit Management Conference of The Support Center of Oklahoma; the 1998 Directors Workshop sponsored by the Center for Non-Profit Management; and Corporate Governance presented at the 1999 Annual Meeting of the Oklahoma Bar Association.
Mr. Rockett is a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. He is the recipient of the 2006 Leadership in Law award given by the Oklahoma County Bar Association in conjunction with The Journal Record newspaper. On April 22, 2006, Mr. Rockett was elected to the Board of Directors of Meritas, Law Firms Worldwide. He is also listed in Who's Who in American Law, Best Lawyers in America, and Super Laywers.
