Correctional Facilities

Andrews Davis has extensive experience representing government and privately owned correctional facilities in both state and federal court. We recognize the unique challenges facing private prisons, and actively seek and utilize innovative legal solutions to address their needs. We also assist our clients in minimizing liability by providing counsel on their various policies, practices, rules and regulations.

Practitioners in this area have represented private correctional facilities in both prisoner and non-prisoner matters, with an emphasis on the defense of Section 1983 and state tort claim actions. Areas of specific expertise include First, Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments, the Prison Litigation Reform Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VII.
