Education:
Mr. Durbin received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1965. He received a Masters of Arts Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1966, and he received a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1972.
Experience:
Mr. Durbin joined the Firm in 1972 and maintains a general business practice with an emphasis on business organizations, business contracts, financing, real estate, and acquisition, financing and registration of aircraft.
He is a frequent lecturer and program planner for Oklahoma Bar Association/Continuing Legal Education in the areas of mortgage foreclosures, real estate financing and conveyancing, and business entities. He was a member of the Cable Communications Commission for Norman, Oklahoma from 1978-1983, twice serving as Chairman. Mr. Durbin has represented municipalities in negotiating renewals of franchise agreements with private cable television operators. Author: Oklahoma Real Estate Forms - Practice (3 vol.), Lexis Law Publishing; Co-author, Contemporary International Politics, John Wiley & Sons, Inc., New York, 1970. Mr. Durbin has also contributed the chapter on Oklahoma law appearing in the two-volume work Fifty State Construction Lien and Bond Law, edited by Robert F. Cushman and published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
Professional Associations:
Mr. Durbin is a member of the Title Standards and Legislative Liaison Committees of the Real Property Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for that Section. He also served on the Mandatory Continuing Education Commission for the Oklahoma Bar Association from 1996 through 2002. Mr. Durbin is listed as a Best Lawyer in the area of Equipment Finance Law.
